It’s hard to imagine what modern dance music would sound like without this former East London pirate turned underground powerhouse.

Launched by East London DJ/producer Geeneus, Rinse FM first fizzed onto the airwaves from a Tower Hamlets council estate in 1994. Since then, the station has been instrumental in launching the careers of artists such as Dizzee Rascal, and has brought emergent underground genres like grime, garage and dubstep to worldwide attention. Today the Rinse universe spans over 80 DJs, a club night, and a record label that’s home to singer Katy B. A graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy, Katy will also be amongst the artists to rep Rinse on the EDF Energy London Eye, alongside Croydon’s own Skream.
